BACCALAUREATE

“Baccalaureate” is the last stage of Secondary Education. It is voluntary and lasts for two academic years, normally between the ages of 16 and 18 years old. At Mas Camarena this phase of Education has the following aims:

Regarding our students:

  • To promote independence and responsibility .
  • To foster team work skills.
  • To foster public speaking skills.
  • To stimulate the ability for critical thought in each student.
  • To instil the values needed to become model citizens .

Regarding our families:

  • Continuing the educational process in which parents have placed their trust for their children’s learning. All of this is tailored to the new level of education that they are starting at the moment.
  • Careers advice and educational psychologist guidance.
  • Up to date information on the progress of the student during the academic course.
  • Achieve a 100% pass rate in our students who sit pre-university exams.
  • Achieve an official English language qualification from the University of Cambridge (this will always depend on the student).

 

According to the LOGSE, Mas Camarena offers the following main areas of study:

  • Health and Natural Science:
    with the following options
    • Techno Scientific.
    • Health studies.
  • Tecnological:
    with the following options
    • Techno Scientific.
    • Vocational studies.
  • Humanities and Social Sciences:
    with the following options
    • Humanities and Social Cultural Sciences.
    • Social Studies.

     

Subjects taught depend on the modalities and subsidiary subjects chosen at Higher Secondary Education by the students.

English Language maintains its importance as in previous academic years. Our programme of work is tailored to the different levels that the students have so creating bilateral English teaching courses.

In the Baccalaureate academic timetable guided study periods have been allocated for students who are supervised by teachers of different subjects.

Tutorial Counselling in Baccalaureate is focused mainly in career guidance and the continuity in further education.

Parents keep a close contact with the Centre in order to carry out the Tutorial counselling programme and are promptly informed of the progress throughout the course.
